A sought-after songwriting collaborator who is equally at home with words and music, Edward’s songs have been performed by artists including The Swingles, the National Youth Choir and Kurt Elling; played on BBC Radio 3, 6Music and Radio Devon; and featured in the Alexander Payne film Downsizing. Whether as a co-writer, workshop leader, or co-host of the Write Me A Song podcast, Edward loves to help other songwriters realise their creative ambitions.
Edward’s affinity for classic pop songcraft can be heard on his album Homing Instinct (2024), with full-colour arrangements and sparkling lyrics grounded by his warm blanket of a voice. Co-produced with Chris Hyson, the record follows two EPs, Mapmaker (2020) and Almanack (2021).
As an arranger, Edward has written for vocal ensembles and choirs around the world, and recently contributed string and horn arrangements to Anoushka Lucas’s album Make Believe. His production credits include The Apex Singers’ CARA-winning album Woven, and EP releases by Harriet Forgan and Ben See.
Having spent 10 years touring the globe with Grammy-winning vocal group The Swingles as their low bass, Edward now works prolifically as a session vocalist on film and TV soundtracks, from Marvel to Bond to Wes Anderson. He has sung on releases by Coldplay, Sam Smith and Anna Calvi, and performed in concert with London Voices, Synergy Vocals and Festival Voices.
